Heywood singer-songwriter releases heartfelt debut single 'Rewind'

A young musician from Heywood has realised a lifelong dream with the release of her debut single.

Twenty-year-old singer-songwriter Rhiannon Thompson released her first original song, Rewind, on 31 July. The soulful pop track draws on her own experience of heartbreak and the realisation that someone she believed was 'the one' ultimately was not the right person after all.

Music has always played a central role in Rhiannon's life, and releasing her own song is something she says she has dreamed about since childhood.

"Having my own song has always been my biggest dream, so finally releasing Rewind is such an emotional and proud moment for me," she said.

Rhiannon worked alongside her friend, songwriter and producer Jack Carroll, who helped write and produce the track in his studio. She cites Sienna Spiro as one of her biggest musical inspirations.

The response to Rewind has already been overwhelming.

"Seeing people say they love my song means everything to me. I hope when people hear it, they remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that things do get better with time."

Looking ahead, Rhiannon hopes to release an EP and continue sharing her music with the world.

"One of my biggest dreams is to hear my music played on the radio. If people enjoy Rewind, I would be so grateful if they could share it and help more people discover my music."

She added: "Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I appreciate every listen, every comment and every share — it truly means the world to me."
