Peacocks Signs Lease at Rochdale Riverside, Boosting Occupancy to 92%

RivingtonHark has announced that Peacocks, a well-known clothing retailer, has signed a long-term lease for a 10,181 sq ft unit at Rochdale Riverside. This development brings the shopping centre's occupancy rate to 92%, reflecting strong demand for retail space in the area.

The Rochdale Riverside complex, which spans 200,000 sq ft, has seen a significant increase in footfall, with a reported 15.3% rise year-on-year. In July alone, nearly 200,000 visitors frequented the centre. Since its opening in 2020, Rochdale Riverside has been managed by RivingtonHark, which has been working with Rochdale Council to enhance the retail offering.

Ollie Holland, asset manager for Rochdale Riverside at RivingtonHark, stated that the addition of Peacocks strengthens the diverse fashion options available at the centre. He noted that this letting demonstrates continued confidence from national retailers in the long-term appeal of Rochdale Riverside.

As the centre approaches full occupancy, further lettings are anticipated, which could enhance the shopping experience for local residents and visitors alike. The presence of national brands like Peacocks, alongside existing retailers such as M&S, H&M, and JD Sports, is expected to contribute positively to the local economy.
