Oliver Coldman crowned champion golfer at Rochdale Golf Club Captain’s Final

Oliver Coldman has been crowned Rochdale Golf Club’s Champion Golfer for 2026 after winning the Captain’s Final during a weekend of competition at the club.

Coldman recorded rounds of 69 and 64 for a combined score of 133 to take the Captain’s Final title. Steve Royle finished runner-up after rounds of 67 and 70 gave him a total of 137.

The weekend also saw a series of other prizes decided. Raymond Clegg claimed Best Nett on Saturday, while Tom Wilson took Best Nett on Sunday.

Aaron Buckley won the Darren Ogden Memorial Trophy, awarded for nearest the pin in two on the 18th, with a distance of 2.13 metres. Steve George was named the lowest qualifier at 10 under par.

Rochdale Golf Club said the weekend had produced some brilliant golf despite the threat of rain, and congratulated all of the finalists and winners. The club also thanked the volunteers and staff involved in staging what it described as a special annual event.

A charity raffle was drawn during the weekend, with the club thanking supporters who bought tickets as well as the donors who supplied prizes. A full list of raffle prize winners is expected to be emailed to members over the coming days.

The Captain’s Final is one of the highlights of the club calendar, bringing together qualifiers for the concluding competition and recognising performances across the weekend.
