Little'Pink'borough returns as businesses across Littleborough prepare to turn pink for Cancer Research UK

Littleborough is preparing to turn pink once again as one of the area's colourful community fundraising campaigns returns in eight weeks.

Little'Pink'borough is inviting shops, pubs, clubs, cafés, restaurants, doctors' surgeries, dentists, hairdressers and businesses across Littleborough, Hollingworth Lake and Wardle to get involved in support of Cancer Research UK.

The campaign, organised by The Three Amigos FUNdraising Group, encourages local organisations to create their own pink-themed displays and help transform the area while raising awareness of cancer research.

Businesses are welcome to organise their own fundraising activities as part of the campaign, although organisers stress that in-house fundraising is appreciated rather than essential. Simply taking part and creating a display helps build the community-wide event.

Photographs from previous years are being shared to provide inspiration and get local businesses thinking about what they could create this time around.

There is also a competitive element. The organisation judged to have the best display will receive a bespoke trophy to keep for a year, with the winner's name engraved on it permanently as part of the event's history.

The campaign brings together businesses, community organisations and residents from across the wider Littleborough area around a common cause, while giving streets and shopfronts a distinctive pink makeover.

This year's Little'Pink'borough is being supported by Whittaker Golf Club, which is sponsoring the campaign. The club offers memberships and individual rounds of golf, with further information available through its website.

With eight weeks to go, The Three Amigos FUNdraising Group is encouraging organisations to start planning their displays and decide how they would like to take part.
