Thousands Attend Rochdale Feel Good Festival Featuring Gabrielle

Thousands packed Rochdale town centre on Saturday, 8 August 2026, for the Rochdale Feel Good Festival, which featured a vibrant mix of music, food, and entertainment. The event, organised by the Rochdale Development Agency, was headlined by two-time BRIT Award winner Gabrielle, alongside performances from Ash and Starsailor.

The festival commenced in the early afternoon, with large crowds gathering at the main stage located in Rochdale Town Hall Square. Councillor Georgina Jacques, assistant cabinet member for communities and co-operation at Rochdale Borough Council, expressed her delight at the turnout, noting that visitors from across the UK attended, many for the first time. She remarked on the positive feedback received, particularly praising Gabrielle's performance as a nostalgic celebration of the 90s.

The main stage was opened by local five-piece metal band Metro, who won this year's Rochdale Music Service Battle of the Bands competition. Their debut performance was well-received by the audience, showcasing the talent emerging from the local music scene. DJ Dave Sweetmore hosted the main stage, adding to the festival's lively atmosphere.

Following the festival, the Rochdale Development Agency plans to gather feedback and conduct a thorough evaluation of the event in the coming weeks. Councillor Jacques thanked all attendees, staff, partners, volunteers, and security crews for their contributions to the festival's success.
