Corrections

When Rochdale Daily publishes a significant inaccuracy, we correct it promptly, and with prominence proportionate to the original error — a corrected article carries a note explaining what was wrong and when it was fixed, and significant corrections are recorded in the public log at the foot of this page.

How to request a correction

Email cc@rochdaledaily.co.uk with:

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within two working days and to resolve them within seven working days. Where a report concerns an ongoing matter and the facts genuinely remain unclear, we will tell you that and explain what we are doing to establish them. Urgent matters — anything involving safety, legal restriction or serious ongoing harm — are acted on as soon as they are seen; mark your email URGENT and say why.

Right of reply

Anyone directly referenced in our coverage is entitled to respond. If that is you — as an individual, a business or an organisation — email cc@rochdaledaily.co.uk identifying the article and setting out your response. A fair and relevant response is added to the article concerned, clearly presented as your reply. This right exists whether or not the reporting is inaccurate: being the subject of accurate coverage you dispute or wish to contextualise also qualifies.

Complaints

Complaints about our journalism or conduct — as distinct from a factual correction — follow this procedure:

Rochdale Daily is not currently regulated by IPSO or Impress, so there is no external press regulator to escalate to; this procedure is our undertaking to you, and nothing in it affects any legal rights you have independently of it.

Removal and anonymisation requests

Published articles form a permanent public record and are not removed merely because they are unwelcome. We will, however, act where content is inaccurate, unlawful, in breach of a reporting restriction, or where its continued availability causes harm that clearly outweighs the public interest in the record — for example where charges are dropped or a conviction is overturned, in which case the record is updated to reflect the outcome. Requests go to cc@rochdaledaily.co.uk and are decided under the same procedure and timescales as complaints.
