Free ice creams, workshops and giant games: Creativity for All takes over Rochdale town centre next Thursday
Touchstones' Side-by-Side festival brings a full day of free family activities to Rochdale town centre on Thursday 13 August, including 100 free ice creams, artist-led workshops and a pop-up play area.
Families across the borough are being invited to a full day of free activities next week as Creativity for All takes over Rochdale town centre, part of Touchstones' Side-by-Side festival.
The event runs on Thursday 13 August from 10.45am to 4pm across the town centre and Temporary Touchstones, and everything on the programme is free.
Highlights include 100 free ice creams from 12pm, handed out on a first come, first served basis, so families are advised to arrive early. Throughout the day there will be artist-inspired workshops where children and adults can make their own creations and take them home, alongside Make Your Mark activities suitable for all ages.
A pop-up play area will offer giant games, chalks and marble runs, while Movers, Shakers and Storymakers sessions are aimed at the youngest visitors, ages 0 to 4.
Between 11am and 4pm, visitors can also drop into a one-day-only art experience staged in partnership with ARTIST ROOMS.
Organisers say the day is designed so there is something for everyone, whether that is keeping the kids entertained over the summer holidays, getting creative together or simply enjoying a day out in the town centre.
