Rochdale Borough Council has announced that part of Egerton Street in Heywood will be temporarily closed for roadworks from midnight on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, until 11.59pm on Sunday, 1 November 2026. The closure will extend from the junction with Hind Hill Street and will continue 165 metres west along Egerton Street.
During this period, no waiting will be permitted in the closed section of the road. The roadworks are expected to impact traffic flow, particularly affecting routes through Hind Hill Street, Market Place, York Street, Bamford Road, Market Street, Dawson Street, Bridge Street, and Pilsworth Road.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes during the closure. The council has provided a map of the roadworks and other restrictions across Greater Manchester, which can be accessed through their website.
