Hundreds of families join Holiday Hive fun in the parks - and it's back in libraries next week
Lawn games, bubble stations and free books drew hundreds of families to the parks this week. The Holiday Hive moves back into libraries next week, starting with a ballerina craft at Spotland.

Hundreds of families joined Rochdale Borough Libraries' Holiday Hive in parks across the borough this week, making the most of the sunshine and the borough's green spaces.
The libraries service thanked everyone who came along, with families enjoying lawn games, bubble stations, music stations, parachute play and musical crafts - and well done to everyone who managed to find a free book hidden amongst the activities.
The Holiday Hive returns to library buildings from next week, starting with a ballerina craft at Spotland Library.
There's an extra incentive to keep reading through the summer too. The Holiday Hive will be giving away more free books to any child who completes the Summer Reading Challenge whilst attending a Holiday Hive session - while stocks last, so families are urged not to delay.
The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading through the long break, when many pupils' reading otherwise slips back before September. Signing up is free through the borough's libraries.
