Rochdale businesses urged to back Denehurst House in £30-a-month veterans challenge

A Rochdale veterans support organisation has launched a drive to recruit 100 local businesses willing to pledge £30 a month towards keeping Denehurst House operational.

Get Together After Serving CIC, which is behind the campaign, says Denehurst House provides support for veterans including emergency housing, hot meals and mental health support. The organisation is promoting the appeal as the Rochdale 100 Businesses Challenge and is asking firms across the borough to make a regular monthly contribution.

If all 100 places are filled, the campaign would generate £3,000 each month in pledged support, equivalent to £36,000 over a full year if every business remained involved for 12 months. The appeal describes the contribution as a relatively small commitment for an individual business which, collectively, could make a significant difference to the service.

Campaign material highlights community spirit, warm meals and local businesses working together, with the message: 'Together, we keep Denehurst House operational.' It also says the project aims to provide a lifeline to veterans when they need it most.

The initiative is seeking support from companies of all sizes rather than relying on a handful of major donors. That model would spread the cost across the local business community while giving Denehurst House a more predictable stream of recurring income.
