Rochdale Borough Council has confirmed that its annual White Ribbon Football Tournament will return on Tuesday 4 August 2026, bringing together teams from across the council in support of the White Ribbon campaign.
Before kick-off, participating teams will take the White Ribbon pledge, reaffirming their commitment to helping end violence against women and girls.
The council is a White Ribbon accredited organisation and says the tournament has been organised entirely by members of staff in their own time to raise awareness of the campaign and encourage conversations around preventing abuse and violence.
Residents are encouraged to attend and cheer on the teams throughout the day. While places in the tournament itself are limited, spectators are welcome.
The tournament takes place at Heywood Sports Village on Tuesday 4 August 2026, and spectators are welcome.
The White Ribbon campaign works to engage men and boys in preventing violence against women and girls by promoting positive attitudes, respectful relationships and challenging harmful behaviours.
